The Aviva Wall

I knew about Roger Waters's The Wall Tour for some time now. I missed seeing him and Pink Floyd live in 1994 but this time fortune came down my alley. I'm not a big Floyd fan, but I still wouldn't want to miss the opportunity. Thanks to my friends, we got a pair of tickets to see them live in Bucuresti just in front of Parliament House. The gig policy said no cameras or recording devices. Ha, what about smart phones, you phonies?! Anyway, knowing they will come to Dublin too I planned to be there and record the light show, which is greater if you are at the concert, not outside it. That said, myself and my buddy photographer were last night in pole position to record it. Good dusk light, just a tad chill. Here it is.

It will be a different look in March, April, maybe some daffodils and definitely a fresher green. I will try to hit the same spot. For the summer shot the sun angle is going to be higher and the shadows will change. The trees will wear their best coasts of the year. I will keep you posted.

All over the horizon, all you can see are glorious golden shades, deep blue water and cloudless sky. It couldn't get any better than this, maybe being at the location an hour earlier. At the far right, third row, you can see a glimpse of Mizen Head.

The Sugar Loaf Mountain, Co. Wicklow

 On the same trip to Powerscourt I took this image of the Little Sugar Loaf (on left) and the Great Sugar Loaf (on the right). I was very happy about being there at the right time to catch the sunset light. Especially when I have planned that. Practice only makes it better.

Glendalough, Co. Wicklow

Glendalough, The Upper Lake, as I've never seen it. On 31st of December, the most unusual time of year, I happened to be there to witness this magical place covered in snow.

Late Autumn Colors

Beautiful autumn colors, in the middle of Christmas Holidays, on the Wicklow Mountains. In the distance, the little villages of Curtlestown and Curtlestown Upper.

Sleeping Giants

This wasn't my idea. On that beautiful sunny December afternoon, we were walking along the quays in Howth. At some point, another photographer was taking pictures into the sun. I noticed him throwing questioning looks at my camera. I didn't know why, but my wife told me later, that he was also using a Pentax. Wow, another Pentaxist, we are so rare. So he was actually curious about the lenses I was using. It was funny, just like two motorists "measuring" their equipment. Anyway, he got a great idea of photographing boat silhouettes. Thank you!

Winter Evergreens

Sometimes the light plays funny games with our eyes. It's winter, and very cold actually, especially for Ireland. And being this lucky, getting a beautiful sunset light in the early afternoon, I had to take shots of those trees. They are some of the forever green Powerscourt Garden trees.
